What Comes After

The difference is
I’d drop everything
to not be

this
anymore

even if just for a moment.

And you might know that.
But you’ll never feel it.
Not the way I do.

So we’ll always be looking
just past each other,
stuck in this moment
we’ll never get out of.

But I know me.
Better than you do
and better than you
know yourself.

And I know that
I will never stop
looking for a way
out of this moment
and into what
comes after.
