Make Room

And then I realized
I am addicted to
letting things go.

And I thought,
“who are you?
how did this

And I was happy.
Confused, and not
at all confident,
but happy.

And I wondered
what else I could
let go of if I really
put my mind to it.

And what letting go of
would make room for.
It’s so easy to say you’re tired. And then say it again. And again. And again. But not do anything to change it. And addicts are just that. Occasionally switching their allegiances.

All the things that have been wrong with my life are still wrong with my life. Very few things have actually changed beyond my newfound insistence that they must. I’m tired. But I’m trying.
